Our current community plan includes 32 single family, detached homes, the construction of which is expected to begin with phase one beginning in early 2018 on the south side of the lake. Phase two will follow in the areas surrounding the farm. These homes will be situated closely together for a number of reasons, including the following.
- Preservation of the land: We’re trying to preserve much of the property, leaving room for several natural and enhanced shared amenities.
- Build community: We’re sharply focused on a layout that will afford hours of front porch sitting, taking in view of the farm and lake, and enjoying time with grandkids, neighbors, and friends. These regular interactions are at the heart of building community. We’re bringing back the front porch.
- A great view of the property: Each home will have views of the lake, the farm, the natural areas, or all three.
- Low-impact development: By placing homes more closely together, we’re keeping the improved surfaces to a minimum, allowing the ground to absorb water from storms, and improving water quality for the lake and those downstream. We’re preserving more of the natural landscape, and we’re also creating amenities on the property that eliminate the car ride that separates you from the things you like to do, like walking in the woods, taking the kids to the park, fishing, canoeing, stand up paddle boarding, visiting the farm, and sipping iced tea with a friend.
While we are creating places to live, we’re also creating some pretty amazing places to sleep. The homes here will be of high-quality. Low-maintenance, energy efficient building materials and practices will be the standard in our community plan. When people are paying top-dollar for a lot, the houses on the lot will be top-dollar, too. Simply stating that homes will be of luxury caliber leaves a lot of gray area and we’re working to nail down specific parameters by which architectural components can be measured and construction plans approved or denied. All plans will require an architectural review. Owners, and the community at large, can assured that while we do want to offer residents the variety and autonomy that comes with custom homes, we will maintain a high caliber result and timeless design.
